International Theatre for Chidren
In collaboration with the Max Mueller Bhavan, Ranga Shankara brought two plays from Germany for children in June 2006, and one in June 2007.Minor Matters, Robinson Crusoe and A King’s Journey played to full houses with adults enjoying the performances as much as children did. Both plays went beyond literal language and transmitted their central ideas through the language of theatre which is accessible to all.
These plays were the first in long-term collaboration with various international partners and cultural agencies to bring the best of theatre to Ranga Shankara’s younger audiences.
Theatre for young audiences is a commitment that we have made and these plays are an integral part of our yearly programming.
