The concept
The Ranga Shankara Annual festivals (in association with Hutch) are a showcase of the very best of theatre. Mostly held in October every year, each festival is a vibrant amalgamation of theatre styles, languages, ideologies and personalities. Usually based on a theme, and curated by an invited festival director, the Ranga Shankara annual festival has become a cornerstone for performing communities and audiences in Karnataka and all over the country.
Each year, Ranga Shankara goes to its vast network of theatre people all over the country and seeks out performances that will light up the stage. Performances on the main stage are surrounded by platform performances, seminars and discussion forums, outreach programs and workshops. Our massive lobby has special installations and exhibitions and the café always crowded.
