Shivaratri
The play deals with the famous Sharana movement that took place in Karnataka in the twelfth century. It is set in Kalyana, the capital of the kingdom of King Bijjala, where all roads lead to the home of a sex-worker. Bijjala and the poet Basavanna meet there and several political and philosophical debates ensue.
